CHARACTER INFORMATION

✘ Name: Nester Abernathy, aka Nessie, aka The Loch Ness Monster.

✘ Age: primordial. Millions of years old. He looks to be in his late 60s

✘ History: The short version is that Nester is literally the Loch Ness Monster. He's a creature that hails from when dinosaurs ruled the earth. He survived the extinction level event by sheltering deep within the loch. He stayed hidden there throughout multiple ice ages and remained there far beyond the last thaw. He was mostly hidden in the loch, rarely leaving as it was difficult to go on land until humans arrived. As he watched them on the shores, he started to study them. He studied and learned. Eventually, though a good deal of effort and many long eons he learned how to turn into a human himself, so he can walk among them. Even then, he has remained close to his home. He tries to stay out of huge historical events. He knows things are probably happening elsewhere but he doesn't meddle. He just doesn't want anything to do with it all. To him, even the most important historical things are a blink of an eye. If anything, he simply wants to enjoy the lands that have been his home for eons.

It's only the invention of the camera and then underwater radar that's changed things for him. Both have forced him above water more and more. He prefers to only show himself to true believers and let the scientists suffer.

You're assigned a group project. What role do you end up taking?
I haven't worked in a group in a very long time. I would probably be best as the person that organizes everything. I have a good deal of time on my hands and know how to delegate to the talents of others. That and I'd rather let the smarter people do the work. I'm happy to just keep everyone together until it's done.

You have the chance to anonymously send a letter to someone who's wronged you in the past. What does it say?
Translated from Gaelic:
Are you blind? How dare you draw such a thing. It looks nothing like me. And there you go on and on, saying you drove me away and I am some spawn of the devil. You've no idea what I am. You pissed yourself and cried when you saw me. You drove nothing away. I was here before you were. I was here before your savior was here. I will be here long after you. I will dance on your grave a thousand years from now.


Someone you admire very much has just done something you find reprehensible. How do you deal with the situation?
It depends on what they've done. I've seen and heard many horrible things that have happened. But if it is truly horrible, there is only one thing for it. I'll just eat them. I might get a tummy ache, but they won't be doing it again.


If you could achieve all your goals right now, what would your life look like?
I haven't really had goals in a long time. It's hard to have goals when you're as old as I am. Everything that needs to be done is already done. My only goals now are to watch over my lake and make certain all the people who rely on me for their livelihoods keep going for years to come. But if I'm being honest, I'd like to travel. There were once 15 of us and I'd love to meet any of my remaining brothers and sisters.

Someone tells you all your flaws. What did they tell you, and are they right or wrong?
I am stuck in my ways. I am foolish and traditional. I'm an old man who can't evolve. They aren't wrong. And I don't care. I don't want to change. I like who I am. I like what I am. What need have I for science when all it's used for is to bother me.

Monstrous Size. Nester is massive, now he's not. He's unable to eat people in one bite.
Tough hide: Nester can no longer just shrug off damage in monster form. You stab Nessie, Nessie bleeds.
Willful transition: Nessie usually has control of going from one form to another. It's been taken from him. The Canyon can force him out of his human body and into his real body.
Immortality: Nester is millions of years old. He looks in his late 60s... He hasn't aged. He will start aging like normal.
Obligate Carnivore: Nester can only eat meat. He can't digest any sort of plant material.

Power 1: Monstrous body: Nester can take on his Loch Ness body. He's fully a lake monster. He's much smaller now, the size of an Orca now instead of a Humpback Whale. He's suited better to water. On land, he's slow and awkward. He can't move quickly.

Power 2: Half-Beast Body: A strange halflife between Monster and Man. Nester takes on the scales and teeth and webbed hands and feet of his real body. He gets a tail and loses ability to speak. He gains heightened scent and sight.

Power 3: Monstrous strength. He's strong in human form. He's able to bend steel with his bare hands.
