Nester Abernathy, aka Nessie, aka The Loch Ness Monster.

Nessie is a truly ancient being. An ocean giant who was trapped in a tiny Scottish loch as the world changed in the falling of an asteroid. He survived the asteroid but was fully landlocked, trapped and lonely for eons while the world changed around him. Or so science says.

There might be some truth to it though he won't say which ones.

He learned to take human form slowly as humans started visiting the Loch. Sometimes he leaves to enjoy the world of mankind. This is the reason no one can find him when they go looking. He's right there posing as an older man telling stories of the lach.

He's been around a very very long time.

He's hard to injure in Nessie form, but as a human, he's pretty squishy. He heals fast as Nessie

Nester is ungodly old. Going into his mind is going into something primordial in nature. Even in human form, it's like trying to read a shark's mind. If there's anything, it's ancient and wild.

The Loch Ness Monster has dealings with the druids of old. You can't tell me he didn't personally know Merlin. He has no magic but that which helps him change from form to form. He is likely to be able to be controlled by very very strong charm monster types of magic.
